    • Below are common questions, troubleshoots, and fixes for the Aiper Seagull SE. This list will be updated from time to time.

If you have an issue not found in Aiper’s original post, reply with your issue below and either Aiper or another helpful community member will help you out!

      Seagull Pro

ISSUE: WHY IS THERE WATER INSIDE THE PRODUCT PACKAGING?
      – All machines undergo 100% water testing before shipping to ensure proper functionality . Therefore , it may find water droplets inside the packaging.

ISSUE: WHY DOES THE MACHINE FLOAT ON THE WATER SURFACE AND NOT SINK TO THE BOTTOM?

      – The filter basket may be full of debris or air is trapped inside the device. Ensure the device has been emptied of debris, if emptied, hold the cleaner and gently press it under the water until fully submerged.

ISSUE: WHY IS THE SUCTION POWER OF THE ROBOT DECREASING?
      – Please ensure that the battery is fully charged before use. Please use a water gun to clean the garbage bin in a timely manner to prevent dirty and dry debris from clogging the filter after each use , which affects the cleaning efficiency

ISSUE: HOW DOES THE ROBOT WORK IN AUTOMATIC CLEANING MODE?
      – The machine will clean the pool floor in an ” S ” pattern first. When the battery level drops below 50%, it will switch to cleaning the wall and waterline in an ” N pattern. When the battery reaches below 10% , it will self-parking along the pool wall.

ISSUE: CAN THE BATTERY BE REPLACED IF IT FAILS?
      – The battery and motor is covered by a 24-month defect liability period. You can reach us via email or phone for a replacement. If it is beyond the 2-year period, you can purchase the assembly separately.

    • Hi, is it normal for the Seagull Pro charger to make a slight noise when the robot is charging?

Yes, as long as it it’s not extremely noisy it’s no issue.

    • Hi, I purchased Seagull PRO today based on the description of what it does but then I read pocnetwork.net review and it states that your cleaning robot will not work if the pool floor is slanted or have steps. There’s not a single mention of that on your website. My pool is 16×35 rectangular shape, has seating ledge all around with few steps in a corner and the bottom goes from 4ft. to 6.5ft. deep.

Could you tell me if your cleaning robot will work in such pool and what could be challenging or impossible for it to clean. Also, why information like this isn’t in the description or FAQ for this robot?

      Great question Marek!

We apologize the information wasn’t readily available for you, we’re working to compile and present as much information about our products and deliver the best service to the Aiper community possible. Now to your question, the Seagull Pro does indeed clean pools with slopes up to 30 degrees, but is not designed to clean pool steps. That is a feature we hope to implement very soon!

      Hope that helps!

      • Thank you for the response. When you say “That is a feature we hope to implement very soon” would that be something implemented via software upgrade or completely new robot?

Also, I just had my pool installed and what I thought would be a sitting ledge around perimeter of my pool is actually just a small ledge 4″ wide about 3 feet below water surface. When cleaning walls, would this ledge stop the robot going further down to the bottom? And another scenario, if the robot would start cleaning from the bottom up, would it just go up to that ledge and turn back down? Was that ever tested?

        • I don’t get it… If the pro cleans walls why can’t it climb a step and clean them. I have steps to get into a pool and one step on the other end to climb out. And as the original poster noted why wasn’t the info shared with the consumers?

    • Just following up on above question. I don’t think it should take company more than 2 days to reply a simple question on a forum. I’m sure a lot of people bought your robot without knowing what it cannot do and will be looking at this forum for answers. I think it’s in your best interest to provide full disclaimer of usage scenarios before you get tons of people complaining or trying to return the product because information was missing on your website. I still have a chance to cancel my order before it ships in June to Canada so I would appreciate an honest answer sooner than later.

    • Hi Marek,

First of all, I want to apologize for the delayed response.

I was slightly confused by your question and took it to our product manager who also found it a bit perplexing. It was determined that by your description,  your does not have flat walls, and thus the device would have problems with your pools walls.  We do indicate the Pro works with flat walls.

I’m sorry if this is not the answer you were hoping for, we do hope you keep your order as the Seagull Pro is an amazing pool cleaner even if its only for your pool floors. Let me know if there’s any other way I can help you or work with you on making you satisfied with your order.

    • I cross-posted this n the Product discussion forum as I’m not sure where I should post this:

I have a new Seagull Pro and have noticed that when put in the water (and I’ve tried submerging 1st to remove all bubbles), the robot does an initial move forwards and cleans, but then stops to turn and then on subsequent forward movements raises the front wheels so it’s not actually cleaning just doing wheelies across the pool!!

How do I fix this issue?

    • Hi MOrmerod, I replied to your post in the other thread, please follow up there.

    • why does my Aiper seagull pro , do wheelies and lose completely it’s orientation???

    • Hi Kevin,

When you mean your unit is doing wheelies, are you referring it standing up on it’s back wheels? If you have a video that would be tremendous helpful, it sounds like you may be experience a similar issue to Mormerod.

I have a Grecian Shape inground pool 36 x 18. The Pro gets hung up on the deep end bottom drain and also has a hard time climbing the side wall in the deep end. How long does it take for the Pro to learn the pool? So far I’m not to pleased with it’s performance.

I just received my Seagull Pro and followed the owner’s manual to charge and set before operation.  Everything went well.  It only took 30 minutes to fully charge and the charge lasted more than 3 hours.  Very impressive.  My only issue is the pool cleaner will not climb the walls or the water line to clean.  I’m assuming since I have a vinyl liner, this cleaner has difficulty climbing the walls of a vinyl liner.  I’m very satisfied with the way it cleaned the pool floor but any suggestions to assist with climbing the pool walls and water line for cleaning?  Thanks.

      Hi,

Regarding the Pro getting stuck on the drain. We recommend while the Seagull Pro is operational in your pool that your drain/filter system be shut off as the suction from this may cause the device to be trapped. I’d also like to know how deep your pool is before I offer any other assistance, as pool depth can have some effects on the system.

Hopefully we can make it to where you’re satisfied with the performance of your Seagull Pro.

      Hi,

Great to hear that you’re enjoying your Seagull Pro! Firstly, I’d like to make sure that you’re selecting either automatic mode which cleans both the pool’s floor and walls or if perhaps you might have your device on floor only mode? Secondly, is your pool wall curved by any chance? Once I know if this may be the issue, I’ll be glad to explore other options with you.

      • I selected the Automatic mode to include the floor and walls.  I have a octagon pool (24 foot across each point) and there is a small sloop from the floor to the wall all the way around.  The cleaner will go up the sloop from the floor but once it hits the wall it doesn’t move any further.  It just spins its wheel and then backs up and starts all over with the same results.  Thanks.

Hi Kenny, I’ll look into this. Some of R&D are on vacation but I’ll get back to you ASAP.

    • Hello,  I wanted to provide an update.  I charged up the cleaner and decided to select Walls Only instead of the usual Automatic or Floor Only.  Sure enough, the Aiper Seagull PRO claimed the walls and to the water line without issue.   Maybe I need to be a little patience with the Automatic selection but I am assuming by the time the cleaner runs its course on the floor, by the time it gets to the walls its running out of power.  Not quite sure but the fact it’s climbing and cleaning the walls and water line, I am fully satisfied.  Thanks for your efforts.   Kenny

    • Hello, I have the Seagull Pro and it has worked great for the 2 months. Recently the Power/Mode dial is very difficult to turn. If I keep trying to turn it, it will eventually engage. Is there a fix to this issue?

    • Hi Matt, this is a recent phenomenon we’ve only started hearing about recently and are currently looking into. We’ll provide an update ASAP.

Hi I have the same identical issue.  My Power/Mode dial is now stuck solid.  What can i do ?  Thanks in advance.

    • Bought this Seagull Pro 2 months ago… was working fine… now when we put it in it does an unusual loop then shuts off flashing red after a minute or two.  We tried it several times.  I paid a whole lot of money for this thing! I just need it to work!

      What can I do???

    • Sounds like everyone has issues with the product, customer service, and communication. Mine quit working today after 60 days.  Tried to talk someone, and was told I’ll be communicating via email with someone else in 72 hours. Ask to please speak with someone and was told I couldn’t. Mine has same issues as all of these comments. Sounds like a recall or attorney issue. This product and company should not be recommended by anyone. Junk.
